QUEENETTE
EBONG

Queenette Ebong is a Nigerian multidimensional artist whose work weaves together painting, experimental media, textile design, and bleach art to explore themes of memory, identity, and culture. Her approach is rooted in a deep respect for African traditions, yet she constantly pushes boundaries, merging the old with the new.

As a versatile photographer, sculptor, and installation artist, Judith explores various media, addressing themes of mental health, identity, and resilience. Her evolving style delves into complexities like depression, suicide, and PTSD, creating powerful, thought-provoking works that ignite meaningful conversations and foster empathy.

Àjẹ́ celebrates the beauty of womanhood, particularly motherhood, through garments crafted with reverence for nature and respect for cultural authenticity. Each piece is a tribute to our heritage, combining traditional artisan techniques with sustainable materials.

In my culture, where I come from, most people wear tailor-made clothing. Even though I grew up in Europe, I have never appreciated fast fashion and its harmful influence on individual identity. Why follow trends? Why should everyone be fashionable? Why dress the same to appear normal?
