ABOUT HALITTA ART
At Halitta Art, we are redefining the global art landscape by amplifying the voices of Black emerging artists and giving them the recognition they deserve.
Our Mission
With 91% of artists remaining undiscovered, the art world has long overlooked Black creatives. Systemic barriers—limited gallery representation, financial constraints, and institutional bias—have made it significantly harder for Black artists to thrive. Studies show that less than 2% of artwork in major U.S. museums is by Black artists, and Black artists account for only 1.2% of total global art sales.
We exist to change this narrative. Halitta Art provides a global platform where Black artists can showcase, market, and sell their work, connecting them directly with collectors and art enthusiasts worldwide.
The Story Behind Halitta Art
Halitta Art was founded by Rangtiem Hoomkwap, a visionary entrepreneur passionate about breaking barriers in the creative industry. The name Halitta—which means "to create" in Hausa—reflects her mission to build a space where non-traditional and emerging Black artists can flourish.
Originally launched as GlobalGeniuses, Halitta Art was born from Rangtiem’s personal journey. Growing up with a deep love for the arts but limited opportunities, she saw firsthand the challenges that artists—especially those from underrepresented backgrounds—face in gaining exposure and sustainability. After years of engaging with artists across Africa, North America, and Europe, she created Halitta Art as a bridge between unseen talent and the global art market.
